I’ve had this cellphone for nearly two years now, . At the time of buying it costed slightly less than Rs 10, 000, but price might have come down now. What attracted me to the phone was it’s appearance. Orange combined with two sleek shades of gray give it a funky look, an original alternative to the metallic and plastic kind of cellphones.
The screen resolution is good. Unlike other phones, this one is packed, and I mean packed with pictures which can be used as wallpapers, screensavers and logos. And they are not boring pictures of ducks, fishes or something else stupid but cartoony, trendy and flashy pictures which are in demand by friends for their cellphones.
The dynamic lights are another innovative feature of the phone. These lights, which are on either side of the phone are red flashing lights, very retro looking and can be made to flash in different styles. In case your are in an area where the lighting is poor, like a bar or restraunt these dynamic looks just simply look awesome and are sure to make your friends go ’’WOW’’. I can’t really think of a practical use for these lights, they seem to be just there for the eye candy.
The cellphone also has a neat collection of polyphonic ringtones.
Clearly, this phones targetted at the young, hippie crowd. So if you like to show style, this is certainly a strong recommendation.
But this cellphone is not all about looks. It’s battery life is really good, it’s nearly four days before it needs a recharge. They are three games present, (i) Wappo an extremely addictive puzzle-strategy game, (ii) the Cubasis Mobile which allows you to create polyphonic (ring)tones and (iii) eXtreme Games, a collection of three games namely BMX (Biking), Halfpipe (Skating), Cliff Diving. Well so there are actually six games, though in the eXtreme Games, the gameplay is horrible and I can’t have played it more than 2-3 times. But the other two are certainly worth their salt.
I haven’t used the camera or a data cable so can’t really comment on it. I’ve dropped the phone twice from a good height (pocket level) on a rough surface (the road) and both times it has survived so clearly it’s a well built phone. My friends phone dismantled itself when it was similarily dropped (can’t remember the model, but it was Nokia phone).
No Bluetooth facility is a major con. In fact if I had bought a phone now, I’d surely have ruled this one out for not having Bluetooth. Other than that I can’t really of any cons.
It’s not the ideal phone, but it’s definitely what I’d recommend, if you don’t mind living without Bluetooth.
