When the time came to buy a washing machine we decided to go for the best and despite the siemens WM2001 sl being very expensive ( Rs 28000/=) we went for it since to us a German machine meant quality and no false promises.
Not a single dealer we visited ( & we visited five dealers in all) were interested in selling the product. I had gone to dealers in Lajpat Nagar, Janak Puri, Green Park, Laxmi Nagar but they all wanted to push the IFB Bosch product to you.
I was really surprised if they were siemens dealers at all. We finally did buy our machine from a dealer by the name of Arvee Electronics at Lajpat nagar.
Since we are a small family of three and the WM2001SL rated at 5.2 kg would have sufficed for our need ( or so we thought). The machine was installed by the company representative and he gave us a demo of sorts which was not of much help. Only when I went through the manual did I realise that it was meant to accept clothes upto 2 kg of the normal wearing variety. What about the 5 kg capacity mentioned on the brochure I have no answer and any call to the Company service Centre did not result in any reply since the lady who took your message said someone will get back but I am still waiting since the last 15 days. On using the machine we found the machine to be quiet and only during the spin cycle it gave a shrill sound . The wash quality is good though it takes approx 2 hrs to do a single load. But 2 kg is hardly a load which one can wash at one go and then wait to put the next load after two hours. One bed cover can be as much as 2 kg.
I am happy with the wash quality but now I feel probably the dealers were trying to correctly and politely give me a correct suggestion and I should have listened to in the first place.
