Siemens WM A 1016 Washing Machine is a Front Loading Machine.
I bought the most expensive machine in the market 3 years back. Today after three rounds of service engineer visits I have been told to scrap this machine and buy a new one. My earlier machine was an IFB that lasted for almost 15 years. I am very surprised at the quality of the products being sold by Siemens in the Indian market.
I am even more surprised at the quality of their service engineers. Last year when the machine started making a loud noise I was advised to change the shock absorbers and a rubber gasket that holds the door shut. As per their recommendations I duly did that at the cost of something like 3000 rupees. Now the same noise is back. Yesterday one service engineer told me that the bearing is making the noise. He did some repairs yesterday and left saying that he will send another engineer but I could use the machine in the meantime.
On using the machine I found that in addition to making noise it has started vibrating and moving forward. Today the service center has sent a new engineer. He has taken one look at the machine and has told me that the main drum has broken, probably due to the vibration, and also the pump has developed a noise. I have been given a service estimate of Rs.13, 280. This doesn’t include the visit charges of Rs.500 that the earlier engineer has already taken.
I will recommend all buyers to be careful when buying any products from this company. Their product quality and service standards are designed only to take money out of a customers pocket.
