The word siena takes it’s origins from an italian city by the same name of the 12th century , famous across the world for it’s fine art and design.The siena that you might end up seeing on the indian roads finally has a design truly worth it’s name.
From the ugly jutting boxed design of yesterday , the engineers at Fiat , with a hangover of the international success of palio , have now come up with another winning design .The new improved siena.
Since I had already driven a Siena before , I did not have any apprehensions about the performance of the engine.The only apprehensions that I had earlier with the Siena were to carry a bag lady like her around was embarassing to my age.Now that this issue was passe , I took the baby for a drive .
First close looks at Siena , and you notice that there is a great new painter at Fiat , who’s done a good paint and color combo job on the Siena .
My date today was with a lovely lady called 1.6 litre ELX NEW Siena.She comes expensive at approx 6.1 lacs for riding her .The first thing I notice as I switch on the engine and move the car are that , the tubeless 175 /65 tyres on those wonderful alloy wheels are wonderful.They make the gutters vanish.
As I drive her on to the western express highway , she clocks 120 with ease.No longer is she a staid lady who admires art and design , The siena can turn into a panther with her tail up , when it comes to the highway.She gallops and turns so wonderfully that , she is truly a drive beyond par.
The car owner boasted that the lady in my arms has a 32 bit microprocessor tucked away under her legs (umm...boot!..i mean) , which increases her fuel efficiency .But the moment you step up the gas in this car , you tend to forget about the fuel efficiency and microprocessor.
The only minus point in this lady , is that she does not sing well.The speakers in my test car were not as good and the sound quality was a bit poor.
Siena is truly about driving the best designed Mid sized Seden babe on Indian roads.So! here’s cheers to Sachin and the new boot on the block - Siena
