I am working as freelance translator, hence require to refer various trminologies on concerned websites. I was using dial-up for access to Internet. But in May Sify broadband stgarted providing service in Badlapur, my residence. So I acquired connection from Sify with a prepaid package for 24 hours, unlimited 64 kbps. For one month there was no problem. But hhen there is series of problem which continue till today and customercare@sify .com is just sending thanksgiving letter, and complaint no.s., but not taking any concrete step to improve the service.
In our area there is a loadsheddign for 5-1/2 hours in day, due to that I acces to internet was not possible. Hence I istalled an Inverter so in the hpope that Ican access internet if power is supplied to my PC. But to no avail. Due to Sify’s poor local network it reamin inaccessible during those 5-1/2 hours. Again complaint to htaier customercare, even to the Head-Customer care responded poorly-we have forwarded your compalaint to our technical department, please bear with us. Then some engineer calls up saying the problem will be solved shortly.
Now I have come to the conclusion that I have to go for some other ISP and approach Consumer Court for recovery of loss due to Sify’s poor service.
I will those who have suffered due to Sify’s poor service to appproach Consumer Courts in their respective districts and convey their experiences to TRAI.
Recent decision of Thane District Consumer awarding compensation to consumer who suffered on account of poor network of MTNL"s ’Garuda". Forum has asked MtNl to pay compensation of Rs.4000/-. (Loksatta dated 12.11.2006)
