I am a SIFY BB customer(1MB- unlimited) and would like to share my experience with you guys. Then its upto youll to decide whats good OR whats bad.
Due to some reason I wasnt able to renew my internet connection and hence I called the SIFY support to activate my internet for 15/20 mins so that I can renew my net connection. The support guy was very helpful and he happily gave me couple of hours of free internet(256kbps) to renew my account(this is their usual process).
I get online and open up the SIFY software to pay online via netbanking. Netbanking wasnt responding, I tried again. and again. and again, but no luck. Just to cross-check if my bank services are down, I directly logged into my online banking website and it was all good. So the conclusion was that the netbanking via SIFY software is not working.
I called the SIFY helpdesk and gave the whole story, which they acknowledged and told me that "Yes sir, we can see you tried multiple times". They gave me 2 options
Try after sometime and hopefully this will work(no guarantee)
OR - we would send a rep(local service provider) after 2 days for collection of money and then he will activate your services.
I told them that the first option is not an option anymore and since I wanted net services asap I cant wait for 2 days as per the second option. I told them to renew my services first as anyways the rep would visit for collection and can collect the amount.(Since, this is a home connection I will not run away with my desktop and couple of hundred metres of SIFY cables). To my dissatisfaction, the helpdesk wasnt equipped with tools to help me.
Then I asked them to give me number of the local service provider and to my dissatisfaction(again) they did not have contact details for the local service provider as they are not allowed to speak with them.So SIFY has given away my netconnection to a local service provider and above that they dont even have the contact details for them. SURPRISE!
So eventually, I had no option and kept the phone. I dont have net connection for my home PC past 3 days now. This is a pathetic service considering the big talks and big promises these guys make when selling a product.
Apart from this there are persistent issues of
No electricity in building where the hub is placed(causing disconnection multiple times during the week)
Virus indicated in the SIFY dialer (update.exe file was infected). Above that, they told me its a problem with your Antivirus and I should disable it(WTF? disable antivirus and go online?). when I asked them to give the same thing in writing, they refused.
