Sigree is the newly opened (few months old actually) Indian restaurant in the City Point complex on D P Road (near Ruby Hall) in Pune. Its in the same complex as Mainland China, Bombay Brasserie and La Dolce Vita. It can sit around 60 people indoors and 30 outdoors.
Bad things first - never expect to get a table immediately at Sigree after 8.30 PM on any day. On weekends, its worse - you may have to wait in line for hours. So the best strategy is to make a reservation by going there in the morning or calling them up before 5 PM.
Second, the service is a bit "confused" - the number of attendants and waiters is enough - but they still havent learned how to deal with a full house. Most of the waiters are courteous and helpful - but some times they dont have a clue of whats happening. They serve the wrong dishes and sometime even forget what you ordered. But you should try to get past these problems (keep your head cool - with the drinks may be ;-), because...
...The food is amazing. In fact, I would say its the best Indian restaurant food in Pune. And the kebabs are the most special. The raan (lamb) is damn good - soft and juicy, the tikkas (e.g. Murg Kandahari and Gosht Seekh Kebab) have great marinade in them and they are grilled to perfection, the prawns and fish are also nicely done with amazing masalas (e.g. Jhinga Til Tinka has a very diffferent but good flavor to it). My friends had the veggie kebabs (paneer and mushrooms) and they also liked them very much.
The main course selection is good and most of the gravies taste-wise are great. You can smell the butter or the ghee fresh on the steaming gravies. Gosht preparations are IMO better than chicken or seafood. Roghan Josh and Daal Sigree are out of this world. Rices (pulaos and biryanis) and rotis (tandoori or naan) are also good.
Desserts are also good. Malpua with rabri is amazing and the gulab-jamuns are good (although they were a bit extra sweet). Having a jamun or malpua made of mainly of khoa in Pune is a rarity (I never understood why) and Sigree is where you can have a good taste of them (we in fact saw a khoa delivery tempo waiting in the restaurant parking :-). The kulfi was also good (much richer and thicker than the typical Pune fare) and the phirni was average (doing anything extraordinary with kheer IMO is anyway difficult :-).
Cocktails were great. We tried the Kiwi Daiquiri, Sangria and Hawaian Ice Tea, and all of them were uniformally good - the Daiquiri especially was a big hit. The mocktails were also good - especially the Litchi one, although the Sigree Punch was a bit syrupy.
The outdoor part of Sigree (river-side) is reserved for the fixed-price menu, where you get either six non-veg or veg starters and a buffet main course with desserts. Although beware of the mosquitos and flies from the river as monsoon approaches.
All this comes to around Rs 500-600 per person (including drinks). If you splurge - add Rs 200-300 more. So its a bit pricey as compared to other Indian restaurants
Overall, a good restaurant with amazing food and drinks. I am giving one star less because the service needs to improve and they also need to manage the crowds better.
