Unwind at Silent Waters Retreat

Yelagiri is a small hillstation for a casual break or a weekend getaway with friends or family. But you should be prepared to simply sit back and laze around [:)] You could include some activity like a trek to swami malai, a boating in the lake, and a walk to enjoy the greenery and pleasantness of the hills. If you are interested in some more travel, you can take off another day and go to Vellore fort(enroute to Chennai) or Hogennekkal(enroute to Bangalore).

Five of us took a weekend break at the Silent Waters Retreat in Yelagiri for 2 whole days. Being a small hillstation, it is easy to find the resort. Well, I must say that the resort is very thoughtfully desgined. Several cottages that can house groups of different sizes, an open area for games, a distinct buffet dining area, hammocks amongst the trees to laaaze are some of the interesting points about the resort. Definitely I should add the customer service as well as the bonfire and outdoor dinner as the highlights.

During those 2 relaxed days [read as lazy], we all didn’t move a muscle, ok maybe we did, we walked down to the dining area and pigged out. Oh yes we also played shutle badminton, cricket and frisbee and we ate and slept to recover from those episodes. For a lil’ cute place like Yelagiri, stay at Silent Waters Retreat is a pleasant time.
