At first I have to do a correction. In mouthshut category Siliguri is in Sikkim.It is a mistake, actually Siliguri is in West Bengal.

Or to enter in Assam, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalay, etc east indian states via Railway, Siliguri is the Gateway. In the last month I was in Siliguri.I had to take Darjeeling mail to reach Calcutta, i stayed a night in Siliguri and decided to watch the city. I have to say that Siliguri impressed me very much.The Roads, the bridges, the traffics are sometimes better than our home city Calcutta! The traffics are very tough in that city.The Sevoke rode, Hilkart rode sometimes are the reminder of the
rodes of Chandigarh. THe Kanchanjangha Stadium-which will organize international cricket after 1 or 2 years also very good experience to see.THe Mayor Of Siliguri Municipal Corporation is also very impressive man.He is trying to develop his city everyday.(My mother is official person.Thus she introduced me to him).THere is no braod gage Railway Station in Siliguri, But in earlier future soon there will be a Railway Station, Thus we don’t have to go 9km far New Jalpaiguri.
