Title : A nice place for food.
Review : Silver Coin--A good food restaurant that is slightly higher priced. But a place you can take your guests. I live in I.C. Colony, and I value good food that is not too expensive. I dont care for ambience, as you cant eat ambience. The place has to be clean though.
Comparing Silver Coin to the other two expensive restaurants in I.C Colony-Nest --is higher priced, but in the two times I had been there, the food was not so good and the service was bad. The Chef--same, also you never when you will have to run out to escape the BMCs bulldozers, which may come if the BMC finally gets the order to demolish the place as it is built on the CRZ zone.
Silver Coin is a nice customer - friendly place. The service is good. I was pleasantly surprised once when the staff lit a candle on a cake and put on Happy Birthday for me. That is what gets the customers in. The kababs are excellent, soft and tender, and of course tasty. So are the Golden fried prawns. The rest of the Indian food is very good. The portions are generous--worth the money. Cant comment on the Chinese as I eat Chinese only in Chinese restaurants. (there are two extremely good low priced ones in the area , Bamboo Garden and Choi Kim.) Reservations are necessary on weekends/ holidays, but you have to wait only about 15 minutes if you dont reserve. Service is quick, nothing to dislike-- but the table near the wash area. Music is piped and muted.
