This book had been lying around in my room for the past three months n as usual I kept putting off reading it bcz of exams or work... finally I settled down with it n the one thing I honestly regret is not having read it all these three months, seriously a blasphemy. its hilarious.. simply fabulous.
I mean this is wat u call a master spoof. the way he has woven each n every piece of fantasy into one tale it is simply ingenious. bollywood, ramayana, mahabharata, star wars, lord of teh rings, harry potter............ What a blanket. definitely cannot be put down till the last page.... And best part is the book leaves you wanting for more..
Even though it has so many parallels to some of the greatest fantasy books ever written n still this book manages to hold its own among them all. comparisons are no doubt inevitable but you wont criticise the author for the similarities..
You ll love the way he has woven these similarities in his tale n made it all a part of the fun... as I said spoof at its best..Havent read the second book yet but definitely am going to read it the min I get some free time. once you start reading it actually it wont matter whether you have time or not. you ll just end up putting everything else in the background...Yup this book definitely has a nasty habit of making work pile up.......
