I had this terrible experience with the groundstaff of Air deccan at Pune airport .Though I have travelled on Air deccan about 10 times before this but it was mostly through Mumbai and Bangalore airports and the staff there were quite good .But the staff at pune airport for Air deccan is rude , adamant and really very very arrogant.
I had actually been to Pune the first time and I had this flight to catch to Bangalore on 4th October 2006 .I actually reached the airport at 6.05 pm for the 6.40 pm flight and went straight to the baggage screening counter where there was quite a queue .By the time I could reach their check in counter it was about 6.15 pm .The official there (Divya Solanki) just took the ticket and scribbled something like late and said that I could not board the flight since I was late for check in .I also noticed that there were about 15 people who were standing there to board the same aircraft and were told that they were late and nothing could be done .
She was so rude and even went to the extent of telling the people there that we should expect this since they were providing the lowest fares compared to all other airlines.She aslo told tall the people there that they had no other option but to get their tickets cancelled or otherwise later they will not even get the taxes refunded and that they should book for the next evenings flight
I was left wondering whether itz a new method adopted by Air Deccan to rob people of their hard earned money.
By having such rude, ill mannered and arrogant people in their staff air deccan cannot ever hope to become the number one airline even if they offer people the lowest fares.
I for one have decided that even if I have to pay a little extra I will not mind but I will never travel on Air deccan again until I have no other option left.
