In the interests of better services coming up, I am entreating people not to fly Air Deccan.
- The Landing accident at Bangalore might happen to any airline, agreed. It does too. But this is oft heard concern among people who fly frequently that air deccan flights just feel that much more wobbly in the air. And the accidents happen just that too regularly. This report-Air carrier accidents, or other incidents involving serious failures or fatal injuries, investigated by National Transportation Safety Boards, during Air Safety week in March 2005.

PRELIMINARY ANALYSIS2 imagery at https://iasa.com.au/140305.htm: Just prior to pushback. Pax were deplaned. 3rd such incident in a month
They have had 4 major accidents and 34 minor ones already in 46000 flights. Even Southwest Airlines, the low cost airlines model on which Air Deccan is based is six sigma compliant.
I have travelled Air Deccan a total of 7 times during the past year. The flights have never taken off on time. I do not know about the rest of you, but I still sit in those cramped herding pits so that I get to Site B from Site A in time, TIME being the important word just in case you missed it. They never have a reason as to why the flights are late as well. If you badger them enough, the information doled out is that the 6 pm flight is late by 7 hours(has happened to me, on the Mumbai-Delhi route for gods sake!) because the 2 am flight on a different route was delayed by an hour.
They are a low cost airline. Not a low priced one. The difference, discerning consumer is between how much they pay, and how much you pay. Instead of trying to build up a case here, all I would do is point you to Rediff Fare Search, ask you to input any place from any place on any date and check out the differences. It would be also necessary to input the factor that the staff treats you with contempt, as if you dare not expect anything from them since after all, We are a low cost airline, and how dare you ask something for your two pence, you cheapskate.
They do not offer ANYTHING to eat. Not even a sip of water, even if you have been seated into the flight, not allowed to get off for more than 2 hours, and the flight is not taking off due to technical difficulties (has happened to me!).
They advertise on your headrest(which is not changed even every week, I suspect). There are advertisings on the luggage compartment, on the overhead speaker system, until you feel you really oughta getting some of that moolah.
Low cost means they pay their employees(fringe staff that is, I do not think they would compromise on the Capn or pilot salaries. Oh well, looking at point one, just might be the case!). The air hostesses look and behave much like the flunked their course back at the air hostess academy, and disheartened and scared of life for weeks on end till Air Deccan came into their lives with a smile, and said out aloud, Come on aboard, all the rest of you. When you land, and are searching for just where the heck is your luggage, there is never a person to guide you. The something that is missing is what we call in our own organization as an onus taking capability.
And it has always been a placement agency flier, If you pay peanuts, youll get monkeys.
Oh, and I didnt get my peanuts either, except for the first two flights maybe.
