I travelled be Air Deccan on early feb, 2007. I had booked return tickets about one month in advance and had to leave for Hydrabad for an important meeting. One day before boarding the plane, the flight got cancelled. So, I had to take up another airline at really soaring high prices. While returning I realised that there Air Deccan does not allocate seat numbers at the time of issuing boarding passes where as I beleive every other airline on the planet does so.
People just rush into the airplane to reserve seats for themselves as in a general compartment of railway or may be a public bus. The result of all this is that if a couple is travelling together, they might not get a seat together during the journey.
Moreover Air Deccan is always short of staff, while even boardng or deboarding the plane, thet are unable to manage people to let them enter the plane in a queue. After reaching the destination , it took 45 minutes for the luggage to come on the belt and to be collected. Its competitor airlines like Spice Jet, Indigo Air, are far much better in all sorts of services.*
