The much hyped Rs 500=00/Rs 721=00 seats always seem to be booked out or the website crashes for the first few hours of eligibilty each time! The minimum rate Ive managed to secure on this airline was 1700=00 and a few odd rupees for a Mumabi Blore flight which was about 600=00 rupees less than the apex fare on the major private carrier.
The staff at the check-in counter are not very knowledgeable reagrding size of baggage allowed as carry-on or the weight allowed. Rules are implemented haphazardly, one gentleman carried on four pieces including one suitacase and a shoulder bag!
The ticket issued clearly showed a seat number so I wondered why people were rushing to get in line to board the aircraft, I later discovered it is because it is free seating! The seats themselves lacked the protective linen covers and the cabin floor was shabby.
Of course the food offered was high priced, but even the items offered were weird, Lays, brownie, etc! One is not allowed to munch ones own biscuits on board! Even the water was sold! Come on.... surely you can hand out disposable cups of water on a low cost airline?
God help you if the flight is delayed or cancelled, cos youll be refunded the dhakkan cost and now have to pay full fare on some other airline!
The landing was bumpy, which prompted my neibour to remark that perhaps the pilot was low-cost too!
We waited 10 minutes for the stairs/steps to be wheeled into place, there was another wait for the bus to the terminal (explanation: since two flights have landed almost at the same time, the buses are busy!).
Be sensible, book apex tickets on Jet, which has the maximum choice of flights, get pampered royally by pleasantly smiling and softspoken staff, eat a decent meal, and really have a nice flight!
