Changi International is more than just an airport, it is a destination within itself. The airport is located on the Eastern side of this tiny city state and must be over 15 years old now, although one would not have guessed so. The airport is used by all the major airlines of the world and is the main hub of one of the airline industry’s leaders SIA.
One can use many adjectives to describe Changi: BIG, CLEAN, EFFICIENT, MODERN, BRIGHT, AIRY, etc. The most impressive thing I find about this airport, is that its developers have left no stone unturned in terms of providing facilities......there are shops galore, ranging from the predictable duty free (selling all the usual items) to chemists selling medicine.The airport has an impressive range of restaurants to suit all budgets, McDonalds included. If one is bored there is a cinema showing feature films. If you are on a long transit stop, rooms are available within the transit lounge at a reasonable rate. There is even a sauna for transit passengers which I can personally endorse as being a worthwhile way to wait for your next flight!!!!!
Whenever I go to a new airport, I always compare it to the standards set by Changi, and so far they have not been bettered!!!
