Roar returns!

There was a difference! And that was something which attracted people, which connected people and which used to give a hope to people, and this piece of art allows resurrection of that hope. A hope which is about a better India, About a lesser corrupt system and better people operating it.

When I say there was a difference, I just want to commemorate those old good and ethical “Policewalas” which were part of a better society, but for last few years our scriptwriters and directors have not been able to do so, what we have been showing to people is a “policewala” which is “for sure” corrupt and there is no hope of improvement in the system.

On one particular part I simply love both Singham movies is the way lead character described and presented, What comes out of “Singham”, A police officer who is mad about duties and when Ajay Devgan plays the character, it shows in his eyes and you can’t resist a full swing whistle. A clean movie character which I can show to kids in my home and ask them to be like him, not to Perform action but at least being of the same character or I can even create some folklores out of this character. I don’t know whether I am overrating or not but some time I feel the character has potential of being Batman of our movies. Whether it touches those heights or not depends on the execution in next movies. But for sure it is one of the strongest “loved by public’ characters in recent times.

Talking about Ajay Devgan, I must say that there is no other choice for “Singham’s” Character. Ajay carries the madness in his eyes and executes the role fantastically. I feel he will be known with this name for years. The way he holds the gun and kills anti-heroes are worth watching scenes, The good part is that expressions on Ajay’s face are always of “Singham’s” and not of “Ajay Devgan’s” unlike some of the bigger stars who have been carrying the same expressions for years and irrespective of movie’s genre and character’s requirement. Kareena was good in the movie as there was not much scope for her character in movie, other than creating scenes for people to smile a bit. The choice of all supportive cast is fantastic and everyone including those who appeared on screen for a single scene only performed well.

I liked the way Rohit Shetty compromised with the amount of music in the movie and did not allow unwanted songs to enter in script; I think editor would have paid more attention this time. One of thing which disappointed me in “Singham” was the climax and in “Singham Returns” also I feel I am at same stand. A movie filled with too much of fantastic action deserves a better and dramatic climax. Though I don’t have an alternative one in my mind but I still feel there has to be something else which could be more “Seetimar”, dramatic and mind boggling for audiences.

Filled with fantastic supporting actors “Singham Returns” is a fantastic movie to watch, I feel this legacy will continue and probably the culture of portraying better politicians, policemen and administrators will continue in Indian movies.

Watch it and learn from it!
