Paap....Sin

Yesterday our cable guy decided to screen SINS at 930 PM.

I was quite curious to see this movie as it was talk of the town at the time of the release. Infact movies like FUN, SHEESHA, JULIE released at that time had the same theme in their movie. They all believed in one fact that SEX SELLS. Neha Dhupia and Payal Rohatgi joined the bandwagon of Mallika Sherawat. Seems like smalltime producers wanted to make just one type of movie where heroine would shed clothes plus do all bold sex scenes. Though these became famous but not blockbusters. ‘Murder’ was a copy of unfaithful, Fun and Sheesha were horrible movies – I am sure one couldn’t even sit through the whole movie.

But ‘Sins’ is different

Christians protested the screening of “Sins” as they were offended with what they potrayed in the movie…an affair between the priest and a disciple. It is a very bold movie full of nudity and sex scenes. But I feel this movie is not a total disaster. Infact, it had a meaningful story. Vinod Pandey (Director / Writer) also did a good job. Overall the movie is good. Viewing once is recommended.

Father Williams loves a girl Rosemary. He has an affair with her. She also reciprocates his love. She doesn’t mind meetin him as he always gifts her things. Gradually she tells him that people are talkin about her character. Hence he gets her married to a drunkard person ‘Graham’- who lets her sleep with the Priest on their wedding night. Later after few months Rosemary starts disliking Father Williams as he gets very possessive of her. He tortures her, beats her even at the thought that she is unfaithful to him. Graham offers to helps her. He loves her and tells her to join him in Mumbai and stay together like real husband and wife. But, all her effort to escape becomes a nighmare. Father Williams makes a sin of killing her in the end.

What was shocking about the movie is that even “Murder” didn’t have so much exposure. Actress “Seema Rahmani” has actually been more liberal than apni Mallika Sherawat … She has gone four steps ahead …and without any inhibitions ….openly acted in Steamy scenes… Her acting skills are average, as she is newcomer. The director has smartly used her in scenes where she has to play a passive character. He has not kept the important scenes on her shoulders. Here Shiny Ahuja ‘Father Wiliams’ has filled the gap that comes in while watching the movie. He is a good actor.

The irony is that, even after exposing so much Seema has not been noticed in the industry.

Comparing her to Mallika Sherawat :

a. She did much more steamier scenes

b. She bared much much much much more

She is still not recognised in the industry. I don’t think she has received any other movie offer, atleast I have not heard anywhere in the news. Whereas, Mallika, Neha & Payal all three were noticed by doing just the half of what she did. Forget international borders…she has not yet famous (or infamous) in Indian borders.

Check out sins for yourselves!!!!
