Gangaram is the WORST hospital as far as their Gastro dept (we were under care of Liver transplant unit with Dr. AS Soin) and Intensive In-Patient care, Hygiene and Customer relations is concerned. Two of us (that I know of) lost our dads during the same week while in HDU dept. due to their hygiene standards resulting in infections.The local government and private patients are all given the same facilities regardless of the cost difference which is extortionate for intensive care by anyone’s standards at a lakh per day !It has some good doctors but is let down by processes/ procedures/lack of standards, hygiene and over crowdedness. Nurses seem to be all from Kerala so speak their own language which no one else understands and its difficult to communicate with them even in Hindi or English at times.
I wish I had never gone to Gangaram and would never recommend anyone critically ill to be admitted there either! OPD may be fine if you are prepared to wait for hours but intensive In-patient care is appalling! Too late for us but maybe others lives may be saved by reading this. Unfortunately the location the hospital is at does not help either as its in the middle of the most polluted area. If you want to live then stay away from gangaram, we went all the way from UK as we heard it was a good hospital, only to have my dad killed there by infections !
