Sishu Griha as the name suggests is a very child friendly school. They follow the montessori system ie. Mont1, 2 and 3 (similar to Nursery, UKG and LKG). Admission criteria for Mont-1 is child should be aged between 2.8 years to 3.0 years for getting shortlisted(Interview call).
Here many of the kids will be filtered out. Next criteria is Annual income of parents and thats the deciding factor finally. They are very strict on the admission process. The administrative staff are ok on phone (They are not friendly and not rude either which we need to understand from the number of calls they receive daily - I am not related to the school nor does my child study there).
I am writing this experience mainly from my first hand encounter with them for getting my child admitted in this school. The kids look neat and good(oulook which is a requirement). They do not have a field of their own, hence they use the neighbouring BBMP ground for their sports activities. They stress more on academics than on other extra-curricular activities of the child. It is upto the parents to work with the child to find more on the areas of interest apart from studies.
The application form is free of cost which is a good way to show the school is not money hungry. During admission time, they have a list of required info and a drop box at the school gates. Fill the required info on a white paper, attach passport size photo of the child and attach the birth certificate(this is a must), drop the paper in the drop box. No one is allowed to get inside the school, security is pretty strict and parents are asked to call the school office for more or any info they need.
Only parents are allowed inside the school for picking up their little ones. The admission process starts end of Oct and ends by Dec before Christmas vacation. If you dont get a call after applying by Dec, please look for alternate school options. If you miss Mont-1 admission, you can only try re-entry to this school from Class 1.
