Sishu Griha- all hyped for its lowly standards !!!

For the benefit of all the scurring parents of those tiny tots, pls do not get dejected if you do not get admissions in Sishu Griha. Reasons below:

My daughter is currently studying in this school, tops the class and wins in most of the competitions and represents the school in inter-school competitions, but in my opinion, there is absolutely no necessity to talk or place this school at the pedestal of “Unmatched Schools in Bangalore!”

I would like to bring on record that the parents are treated as “ Guinea pigs”, especially when you visit the school office. You are not even offered a seat to sit when you want to talk to them, and they talk to the parents as if they are doing us a favour! Come On, if this is the treatment that you give to the parents, then what kind of culture is expected to be taught in school to the kids!. I have faced this, especially from that lady, - Usha who is the PA to the Principal. She does not even have the basic etiquette and mannerisms to deal with EXISTING PARENTS, forget the ones who go to Sishu Griha for admissions, I pity them………

I am a Hindu, but I studied in a Convent school in Bangalore itself and I am able to see the stark difference in the quality of education/ mannerisms imparted to students, pls note: it is not just sufficient to teach kids to greet with a “Namaste”, but teach integrity and how to behave…(what we teach at home is what that stays)

It is like any other ordinary school, for the following facts:

Homework is at its minimal upto 4th No exams till 4th, but for the tests that they conduct every quarter Teachers do not pay special attention to kids who even score averagely They ask kids to get money even if it amounts to Rs. 10/-(can’t the school collect it included in its fees), it was never the case in the school that I studied It is either an Annual day in a particular year or Sports Day- never both! The level of sports activity in the school encouraged is not even comparable to Government schools!-

It is only parents who have taken the extra effort to get their wards exposed to a particular sport externally and win prizes for the school, absolutely no support/ encouragement from the school’s end(apart from announcing in the school assemblies) How about Quizes/ other academic competitions?- let me put it in bold-“IT IS THE PARENT WHO HAS TO AND WILL DO IT FOR THEIR CHILDREN TO EXCEL IN COMPETITIVE EXAMS LIKE Asset Apptitude, Maths and Science Olympiads and other competitions.

The school gives not one iota of effort/ backing! All that matters is Parent’s complete undivided attention to kids and NOT the school’s contribution. Question booklets are given away to the child chosen to represent the school and it is the parent who is expected to make the child quiz ready, then what are the functions of the teachers/school, if this is the case?

The level of English comprehension and vocabulary of the kids that I have seen in Sishu Griha is definitely far below to the standards of the Convent schools(I keep comparing to what I was when I was my daughter’s age) Even for a Christmas party or an excursion, children are expected to bring all the food stuffs and items, my questions is what is the school contributing? If everything is to be provided by the children themselves, though this might seem petty, but it matters, when compared to other schools.

The list goes on…but I am definitely pulling out my daughter out of this school and putting her to some of the convents here, they do best!
