My first review. I just watched the movie today in Adlabs... I must say I have not watched a single movie in a theatre for 12 years!! but decided to watch this movie because of the HYPE created. The movie begins with Rajnikanth in Jail and then we have a flash back as to why he has landed in Jail. Rajnikanth is a Software Engineer who comes to India from the USA. He has 200+ crores of money in his bank and he is unmarried....and was born in a poor family.(how did he earn 200 crores at such a young age?.

Okay Its a MASALA (BRAINLESS )MOVIE So mistake excused). He plans to set up hospitals educational institutions in the country to serve the poor. But he faces stiff opposition from the villian who uses goons to stop Sivajis progress. The problem with the movie is he have 30 minutes of sh** delivered to us followed by 5 mins of serious stuff(the main PLOT) So the movie progresses at snails pace. There are ocassional good comedy from Vivek and Rajni. So till the interval its the villian who succeeds and Sivaji is in the streets with only a rupee coin which the villian gave him as alms.

This is a typical Rajini theme where he rises from Pauper to Millionaire Padayappa/Muthu etc) I have no problems if he follows his success themes but here the execution is very bad.By now I was expecting the movie to heat up and I expected serious stuff but NO!!! Things got even worse. The songs are also not melodious I am really surprised that people call the songs very good blah blah...

The reason is either that people are biased towards Rajinikanth/Rahman (BLIND FANS) or people like it because of the fact that Tamil cinema has stopped giving decent songs in recent years... Koothu Pattu is what is dished out in tamil cinema these days ..so something remotely melodious is accepted. So let me get back to the story after Interval.... Man its too bad....Sivaji decided to break the laws for a good cause.Just before the interval he tosses the coin Heads means bad path Tails means Good path...(A path he calls chosen by god... A good idea to shift the blame of all the sins on god)So now he blackmails the villain...

He calls him from a PCO saying he will have an income tax raid. Now the Villian who is a CM with so much political power beleives it (smart guy) and transfers all his documents to another place which sivaji manages to get hold of. So sivaji asks him 50% of his black money and then complains to the Inome Tax Dept. In another case he stabs a minister. ( I wonder how a Software Guy can do that.... In Indian/Hindustani Kamal Hasan was an Freedom Fighter for whom killing people was easy but in this case I find it difficult to digest) Anyway its a brainless movie as I said.. So after collecting this money sivaji transfers them to USA and then transfers the funds back in the name of donations.

Let me scoot ahead as its a big headache to write in too much detail....Sivajis wife deicded to tell CBI about her hubbys activities and so Sivaji is arrested End Of FLASHBACK... The villian kills sivaji .. but sivaji escapes and returns as MGR and takes his revenge on the villian.Ufff sorry for skipping things towards the end I was just too bored.PROS : Rajnikanth (he looks really young) The whole movie is based only on Rajinis Star Power.CONS : everything else except Rajinikanth. Especially the Plot...

The length of the movie.. it has content of only 30-45 minutes in it!!!Songs are picturised well but I cant understand what was worth 100 crores expenses in the movie.Too much. Shriya is supposed to be a TAMIL KALACHARAM ulla ponnu but ecept wearing sarees everything with her is unlike tamilian. I did like hear cuts in the scene where she stops the train. ;)Sivaji is Unbearable.Sorry to Rajini Fans but I think I am being Frank and Unbiased. Better watch Padayappa or Baasha which are really entertaining MASALA movies....Abuses from Rajini Fans are welcome
