All 5 stars only to RAJNI!!!

Sivaji - The boss - This movie has been, I guess, the most awaited Movie of this year.No denying that, Rajni movies are a hysteria. His movies are, from start to end, one man show.

Rajni is an icon, a living legend.

His style is unique and now his trademark. No one could effortlessly carry those antics as he does. And thats why he’s a big Star. His fan following ranges from masses to the elite classes, from young kids to oldies.Such is his craze!

Coming to Sivaji - The boss.

The Plot is very simplistic. An age old tale of good versus evil. But, Rajni as the main protagonist,  takes the movie to an altogether different level.

Sivaji(Rajni), is an NRI, who comes to India. He wants to build Sivaji University, Hospitals to cater to the needs of poor people. He dreams of a world, where students wont have to sacrifice their education for lack of money.A world where poor people are also cared for and have decent jobs, health options. His maternal Uncle(or Mama:)) played by Vivek is with him for this work.He stands by Sivaji in all circumstances.

In between all this Sivaji falls for TamilSelvi(Shriya). He woos her. Most of the humor rises during these situations:)

Then we have Adisesha(Suman), who doesnt like the idea of Sivaji setting up the University, hospitals etc.He likes the system, as it is running. Because he himself has a chain of colleges and hospitals, which he has opened just to mint money. He is a powerful guy, with his contacts in the right place. He tries to create lot of hurdles in Sivaji’s path.He uses all his might to destroy Sivaji. He succeeds partially.

At one stage Sivaji is left with no money, no home. But he has a "one rupee" coin, which Adisesha gave him as alms. How Sivaji regains what he lost, how he bounces back, howw he "gives it back" to Adisesha is best watched on the screen.

The story has nothing new and is one of the drawbacks of this flick. The treatment is also not upto the mark.Shankar has done an average job, but he is nowhere near to his earlier efforts(Mudhalvan, Gentleman or in that case even Anniyan). .The film is not devoid of flaws. The climax looked hurried. But again as I said, Rajni’s presence itself covers up the flaws and more.

Performances: -  All the actors come up with a fantastic performance.Shriya looks fabulous, emotes well and is confident.Vivek is fantastic, as usual. He provides ample of laughs. His one liners and antics, along with Rajni in the first half, are sure to bring the house down.Raghuvaran is ok in his miniscule role.Suman makes up as a good villain and really looks menacing.

Sivaji would be best remembered as Rajni’s 100th movie and for his antics. How I wish, Shankar had worked little bit on the story and its treatment, which would have been a fabuluous treat for Rajni’s and Shankar’s fans.

Five stars only because I m a huge fan of Rajni.
