Winter has its own share of joys and sorrows - Piping hot masala chai, hot dry fruit milk in Delhi, delicious ghajar halwa and also dry skin.
I stay in Hyderabad and the weather is so dry here, you need a real heavy duty moisturizer.
I’ve tried brands like Lakme, Aroma Magic, Ponds, Vaseline and Jergens. For some reason, they seem so high on smell and so low on moisturization. You need to re-apply even few hours to keep yourself hydrated.
One of the best options I got is Aveeno. It is fragrance free and moisturizes you for the entire day. Nivea is also equally good. The best thing about Nivea is, it is great for mild sunburns too. The problem with Aveeno is - I do not find it in India, I haven’t tried Body Shop, etc as it’s not available in Hyderabad.
There’s a small bath and body store in Hyderabad called CIEL PUR. Recently a friend tried CIEL PUR body butter - a peach flavoured one and told that it moisturizes her the entire day. She was someone who used to apply a moisturizer 6 times atleast in a day. So, I tried this shop and found an amazing variety of shea butter soaps. I think they have some 30 soaps! I liked the bitter almond shea butter soap, coffee vanilla soap and chocolate honey soap. They just melted on my skin and it was such a great skin pamper. I think most of us do not need to use anything than the soap. It seems to be loaded with butter! Also I tried the Sandal and Olive body butter. It was mildly scented but it was so creamy and great to use. It really left me moisturized the whole day. The ingredients list seems so impressive. I think this is an Indian answer to LUSH and body shop. They have a limited range of products but the shop and products seem very impressive. The shop is in Banjara Hills at the iStore mall.
