With most supermarkets now having a beauty/pharmacy counter, it is really quite easy to pick up a moisturiser if you run out. Here are some of the popular ones that me and my friends have used at some point in our life!
Clarins Multi-Active Day Cream; £29.50/50ml - not too greasy, but creamy enough to hydrate thirsty skin and its alcohol-free.
Lancôme Vinéfit Complete Energising Moisturiser SPF 15; £24.50/50ml- much thinner and less greasy but the consistency is just right. It quenches the skin without giving spots, and it creates a nice foundation over which to put make-up.
Clinique Moisture Surge Treatment Formula; £17.50/30ml -Apply this light gel twice a day, and it is easily absorbed into the skin without leaving it looking shiny. It makes skin feel slightly tighter and refreshed, and is perfect for a normal complexion. Someone with drier skin might need a full-on cream, though.
Elemis Aromapure Absolute Day Cream(Normal to Dry); £23/ 50ml - nice medium weight - not too creamy - and it softens skin without making it break out. The cream contains SPF 7, and also comes in a handy tube container - much more portable than the typical heavy tubs.
Elizabeth Arden Daily Moisture Fluide Hydratant Quotidien SPF 15; £38/50ml - leaves skin feeling moisturised and smooth, and its a perfect consistency - thin, but not runny. It contains SPF15, which is essential in these skin- conscious times, and its light scent is very appealing.
Garnier Synergie Vitamin Radiance Daily Moisturising Cream; £3.49/40ml - The scent of this cream is lovely. It isnt too greasy and soaks right into the face. It has sunscreen in it, which is a definite plus. Although scented, it is hypo-allergenic.
LOréal Plenitude Hydrafresh Aqua Fluid; £5.99/50ml - it was very cool to the touch, which was refreshing. It contains sunscreen, as well as vitamins C, E, B5, calcium and magnesium.
Crabtree & Evelyn Swiss Skin Care Moisturising Day Cream; £10.95/50ml - was fairly thick consistency If anything, it feels a little too creamy - it doesnt absorb into the skin quickly. Suitable for dry/very dry skin.
Nivea Visage Time Defying Fluid; £5.99/50ml - The cream itself is thin and the scent wonderful. Just right.
Origins Balanced Diet Balancing Tonic; £17.50/50ml - fairly light, preferable at night or as a post-workout cream. This cream smelled great - really fresh, and the only down side was the glass bottle - too easy to break when travelling.
Ive covered most of the moisturisers although some opinions arent mine. But the best moisturiser is one that you are comfortable with and that suits your skin. And dont forget the magic routine of cleanse, moisturise and tone before bed every night. Although opinions are currently divided on the toner bit. But thats a topic for another day.
So happy shopping ladies(and gentlemen - if any!).
