Pathetic after sales service, callous attitude

I purchase Skoda Fabia on 13th October. There were issues as far as date of delivery was concerned (delayed by 7-10), but I dont even want to talk about that.

My car unfortunately met with an accident on November 19th. Some rogue bus rammed it from the back and then it rammed into an indica on the right side. Fortunately, both me and my wife who were in car are safe, not even a hair shook (hats off to sturdiness of Fabia!). I gave my car to JMD Auto, Nerul for repair on 19th November. The dealer is taking too long to repair the car. First he insisted that part are not available locally and had to be procured from Skoda HO. Then he said that there is some strike going on at Skoda’s Czech facility, hence some of the parts are not available. Finally, after taking the matter to Skoda India, them promised on 20th December to give delivery on 30th December.

After too much haggling, and after good 41 days, when I followed up today about time of delivery on 30th, they say it is not ready and will take another 4-5 days. Even if the parts are to be procured from Europe, how on earth can a car take 46 almost 50 days to repair. Meanwhile, I am paying taxi fare for my one way commute of 30 kms everyday. Skoda after sales and services suck bigtime. Best Avoided!

An update: I got my car finally on 9th January 2012, 51 days after accident. When I used it first time on 12th Jan, I realised the car was making loud noise. When I send the car back to the dealer, JMD Auto, Nerul, they told me that because I drove 150 kms the damaged car, hence the compressor was damaged and had to be changed. The insurance company would not pay it because they were never informed about this damage. Skoda warranty will not bear it because it is an accidental damange. So I was asked to pay Rs. 30, 000 to get the compressor of my 3.5 month old (out of which for 2.5 months it was at workshop) car repaired.

Fact No. 1: Immediately after accident, I called up Skoda Road Side assistance to tow my car to nearest workshop. They inquired about what happened in accident and that if the car was starting to which I replied yes. So then they asked to drive the vehicle to nearest Skoda dealer with was JMD Auto, Nerul which was about 4-5 kms away from the accident venue. Now the dealer is saying I should pay up for wrong direction of Skoda customer care executive.

Fact No. 2: While my car was at workshop for 52 days and they claim to have taken 3 trial runs to make sure car is appropriate to drive, why did they not figure our the loud noise that car was making? Whey did they not report it then and have it claimed from insurance company? This is clear case of customer being fined for dealer negligence.

I lodged a complain with Skoda customer care on January 20th and have since then followed up 13 times, till date I have not received any call from anybody from Skoda. Really callous attitude of Skoda, still waiting for the my car to be finally delivered.
