I am the proud owner of the 1.9 elegance, bought 10 months ago. I am extremely satisfied... it really lets rip on the expressway. the alpine music system is excellent , far better than the corolla.
the car is extremely sturdy , has great acceleration, and good handling. on the khandala entry ramp without knowing I was speeding at about 100(limit was 40), and I skidded over some loose gravel, however I was easily able to regain control... I dont think other cars would have handled that without incident.
in the city the diesel causes one to have to accelerate in first gear, so that could be a problem in heavy traffic, making handling a little tedious.
the free service costs RS 4500, change of filters /oil etc, which seems to be a rip-off, and the smallest dent repair makes up a large bill.
The air con is very sophisticated, but it has a default exhaust on system, so one has to adjust that everytime in warm weather, which is an irritant. Backseat may not cool all that well, was my feeling this summer.
the boot is simply amazing, easily accomodates huge amounts of luggage of all kinds.
space in the front seat is good, maybe behind some additional leg room may be called for.
on the highway mileage is 18kmpl(YES!), in city traffic still a comfortable 11-14!
If this car lasts me for about 5 years, without much incident(which most reviews predict shouldnt be a problem), I sincerely think this to be a great buy! :)
