I bought my Skoda Yeti 4x4 Elegance after 7 test drive comparisons with all other SUVs in the market. I have clocked 38000 Kms in a year and a half, driving in the city and outside. No problems so far. The Yeti has distinct superiority when it comes to power, handling and safety. Although our highways are not meant for it, you can easily clock 160 Km/hr and there are few cars that can accelerate as fast.
The car is rock steady even at that speed. It has very good road grip on turns at high speeds and even hard braking at those speeds causes no loss of control. The headlamps and cornering lights illuminate the road very well in the dark. The multifunction display indicates the range, fuel consumption, distance etc very clearly.
The small turning radius makes it very easy to drive and park in the city.
The safety features like 6 airbags and off road mode are very reassuring. But the best part is when you ’fill her up’. I get an average of 14-15 Km/lit for my usage which is mostly equal parts of Mumbai city and Mumbai- Pune trips.
I would rate it the best value-for-money vehicle if you drive yourself.
