James Bond Movies are associated with mind blowing action, international conspiracies, great location, subtle humour and gorgeous ladies. But this film, Skyfall, is special because of 3 reasons.
First - Daniel Craig as Bond is not the Cool, Nonchalant Bond we know. Unlike Roger Moore, Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan. Craig is a serious, intense guy who seldom smiles. The suits the plot of Skyfall, where Bond is shown as an ageing secret agent whom the establishment has all but written him off.
Second - I cannot remember having seen James Bond weeping in any of his earlier films. In Skyfall, he wept over the dead body of M, the redoubtable chief of the MI-16.
Third - The final action scenes are very old fashioned which is great. No incredible stunts, no Sci-Fi Weapons - Plain guns and Bombs and Knives. The Picturesque location of Scottish Highlands is breath takingly beautiful.
Everybody acted well in this film, but special mention must be made of Judi Dench, whom we see here perhaps for the last time as M, the Chief of MI - 26.
