A powerful tale of four innocent young boys who pay for a small mistake in the worst possible way. The movie is allegedly based on a true story (allegedly, because no one has been able to verify that the events depicted actually occured), though I hope it’s not true, cause I wouldn’t want to wish the fate the four boys had on anyone.
The movie has some pretty big names in the cast, and more importantly some pretty powerful performances. Again, to my surprise, this one didn’t win any Academy Awards. Don’t really understand why. It was nominated for best musical score, though it didn’t win. Another one to buy an original disk to add to one’s personal collection.
Take note that because of the themes and the story, this movie is definitely not a family movie. Watch it alone or with a partner.
