A could-be masterpiece gone haywire

When I saw the promos of this movie for the first time, it caught my attention and I have been waiting for its release since then. As for the cast, it has Samuel Jackson and I saw that good enough for a reason to watch this flick.

Summary - Jackson plays an FBI Agent who has this responsibilty to es*ort a witness from one location to another. For the transportation, he chooses first class of an Airplane. This witness has seen a killing and the killer wants this witness to be silent. Killer chooses this unique method of putting venomous snakes from all over the globe on to this Airplane to get rid of this witness. This all happens in first few minutes of the movie and then rest is the struggle for survival with most deadly snakes as your co-passengers.

Film loses steam - Film loses its steam because it being as a thriller does not have many instances to create that thrill. It keeps on repeating the scenes of people bitten by snake, either Pilots, Air-hostesses, FBI Agents, Passengers. It just shows a repetion of snake-biting all the time.

What failed to pickup - Though they have shown a Snake Specialist in the movie but it does not make any substantial contribution to the movie. Only thing he comes up with is that these Snakes have been brought from all over the world and they are not just from US alone. There is another FBI Agent who apprehends the guy responsible for getting all those snakes into US, still it does not matter much into the movie.

What more could be there - They could have come up with some result-oriented role from that Snake Specialist, to the least. Must have shown more variety on happenings on this plane, instead of repetitive snake biting. One option I can think of is that may be they could have shown that one snake species is enemy to another and that might be an interesting scene, snake vs snake. Thats the one possibility, I am sure if they have given little more thought to it, it would have been a real innovative master-piece.

Climax - It is the biggest let-down, you somehow feel that it is an abrupt ending. Plane just lands somehow and thats it. We all wanted to know what happens to that bad guy, who caused so much horror onto this plane but that does not happen and then you realize that this is the END.

All in all, a could-be nice entertainer gone wrong. I am really sad about it. Trust me, I myself wanted this movie to come out good but .
