My experience with snapdeal only goes to show that the merchants who advertise their products/services on the website are not trustworthy. I bought a deal for 1 month worth of Yoga classes from a merchant on snapdeal. I sent my mother down at the merchant along with the printed voucher. Instead of holding regular training sessions for her, the trainer just gave her 1 lesson. When she went back for a subsequent session she was charged double. The merchant claimed that deal was for 1 session not 1 month. When I complained to the customer care, they at first seemed cooperative. However the next day they did an about-turn and supported the merchant. These guys are just fleecing customers. On any day, I would trust https://flipkart.com or https://ebay.in rather than these cheaters. Stay clear of snapdeal guys!
This is the 2nd instance of getting cheated by a merchant on snapdeal. I have finally decided to unsubscribe from this website. I had bought a deal for two movie tickets at Roxy cinemas, Kolkata, the details of which are to be found in the screenshot I have attached. When I went down to movie theatre, today, Thursday, 26th July, 2012, to catch an evening show, I was in for a nasty surprise. They had one look at the SMS of the voucher and refused to honor the deal citing the following 3 clauses:
Only a printout will be accepted, no SMS
A prior appointment is mandatory.
Offer not valid on a matinee show, even on a Thursday.
All three conditions are in direct conflict with the deal as is clearly evident from the screenshot I have provided. There is absolutely no mention about any of these on the fine print. So, people of Kolkata, PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM SNAPDEAL!
