Snapdeal: Knows to displease customers everytime.

After my experience of purchasing from Snapdeal. only thing that comes to mind is "carelessness" and real bad processes/system.


This writeup was triggered after some 4 days ago, Snapdeal shipped me a wrong product. I would like to go ahead and specify that this was happening to me SECOND time through Snapdeal. Basically, the product which is shipped to me is a lower range/model product of the same company.(Maybe an intentional attempt to cover discounts/unable to meet their offer price and fool customers?)


The first experience of wrong product was through Order#1203677125 on 22nd Aug, 2013 which I eventually returned.


Second being the Order#1665928062 on 4th Feb, 2013. which is in process of being returned. Mind you this time I was dealing with a Snapdeal-certified seller. Currently, status being I’ve sent them images to prove myself.(What a worthy customer I am!)


After I had a heated conversations with their escalations manager and with some pushing I found out some real shocking points and my derivations from them are listed below:


>Snapdeal really doesn’t knows who the seller is! - YES, they are not aware of who they are dealing with apart from their name.


>The customer care guy offered to get the details from GOOGLE. They are really relying their business on Google.


>The next point I raised with them was the implications of this on the seller. They told me they will stop business with them if their is more than 2 cases registered against him. My question lies in how they will filter him out? The seller can return to the site with an alias name.


>There is no feedback/review system for the seller. They can still remain Snapdeal certified after putting all the miseries on the customer.


>The RETURN process:


Now we are talking about the amount of inconvenience the customers will face after going through the frustration of getting the wrong product.


(1) So you have to call up their always-busy customer care - raise tickets with them.


(2) Follow up on their mail to get a response after 2 days - Asking you images to prove that you were really thugged.


(3) Print/fill out the return form;


(4) Finally if you are lucky someone can come to your door to collect the product.


(5) Wait for your money to be credited.


If you are shopping with other online shopping giants you would know this return process is really smooth and a charm!


Finally, it is not a matter of getting your money back. You needed the product which of-course you didn’t and as a matter of fact, if you are not loaded, you have to wait for your money to make the purchase again from some different website.


I basically think they are giving some offers and prices to attract customers but at the end of day, they are not able to satisfy and stand up to their words. Their policies will unfortunately not be of any help to you. A lot of loopholes lies in the process.


Personally, I would suggest all you shoppers to go for some reputed websites Flipkart/Amazon/Myntra to shop (shell out some extra bucks). Because the frustration won’t be worth it.
