I have been a customer of snapdeal for a long time and have not faced any major issues but recently what they did man it was wrong.
So my brother was asking me for a mobile for 2-3 weeks I found out his preference some how and decided to gift him Nokia Lumia 620. Now he lives in Bangalore so I thought of ordering from Flipkart thinking it will ship sooner. But then I thought I should check other web sites, price was not the issue since it was the launch date and I knew prices would be same everywhere, I just wanted to see if anybody was shipping sooner and sanpdeal said it was shipping in 5-7 days which was less than most of the other sites. So I decided to order and brought the product on 3 Months EMI. They gave me an est shipping date of on or before 20th March which was ok.
on 20th I got a mail saying that the order has been delayed and the new shipping date was 26th ... remind you I had ordered the phone for my brother who was really excited about getting the phone .. his heart sank getting the message and so did mine and this was not even the worst part.
The worst part is today on 22nd they have cancelled the order at 1:17 AM in the night without even calling to confirm if I want the order or not.
So this is how you do business: Offer the best shipment date and then delay it and then cancel the order without even asking and then freeze the money for 5-10 days in the name of refund. Why put such ambitious shipping date if you cant deliver.
Being a large eCommerce company this is very immature way of doing business. People trust you, rely on you ... they make promises trusting you and then you do this. Very unprofessional.
An ya dont say sorry to me say sorry to my brother. Me or him might not be shopping from snapdeal ever.
