Refused replacement of faulty product

Purchased 4 Autowheel covers for Maruti Baleno vide order no 10456518720 on 6th Dec 2015, delivered on 12th Dec 2015, seller Hindustan Enterprises New Delhi. The covers are slightly overdimensioned for Maruti Baleno and and as a result, after fitting( by a professional tyre repair shop), two of them cracked immediately on insertion. Balance two covers were not attempted.


Registered request for return immediately on 12th Dec 2015 due to product defect. Snapdeal representative called on 13 Dec 2015 and upon hearing that two of the covers have cracked on insertion, refused the return request. How is it the customer’s fault if the product design is faulty and not suitable for use with Marui Baleno as claimed by the manufacturer and as advertised on Snapdeal? Snapdeal should not only refund my money, but also withdraw this product immediately so that other customers do not have the same experience as I .


A bigger issue with online purchases is the risk of buying anything that requires a close dimensional fit - I would advise readers to buy such products in shops only, so that the seller takes more responsibility for suitability of the product for the advertised use than Snapdeal has done in this case.
