Just a few days ago(31st Aug, 2014) I tried snapdeal.com for the first time. I had ordered 3 products - 2 women footwear and a women watch.
The first footwear arrived and it was not the one I ordered!. The seller had sent something completely different. I ordered sandals and he sent belly. I found phone number of seller online and told him that and he assured me that hell replace when he gets the product back but this is really a waste of time. I cant believe that sellers can be that careless. And I dont know if the product will be ever replaced.
Second product arrived, a watch, it was what I had ordered but quality was so bad that glass of the dial came off on the first day itself. Even for Rs 400 product you wont expect that to happen. Or would you? Because Rs 25 kids watches last much longer.
Third product is yet to arrive and I am just assuming that it will have as many problems as the first two. Ill update if that one is good.
And the site itself is poor. I added products to my cart and then registered but products disappeared from my cart. I tried to login again but login just didnt work and I kept getting redirected to login page even after successful login. Somehow I managed to login but had to waste around 15-20 minutes, just to order after finding/adding products to my cart again and again.
I have been purchasing from flipkart and earlier from HS18. HS18 tries to suggest that it offers best prices but it doesnt. Flipkart is the best site of all the online shopping sites in India. I can say this from my experience. Flipkart has never ever failed me. Even tried ebay.in once and I was not dissatisfied at all. Only writing this review because I am so unhappy with snapdeal.com sellers. Flipkart offers best prices and their return thing is so great. In rare case there is any problem they send the replacement first and then pickup the faulty product. In case of snapdeal, the seller said hell send the replacement when he receives the product back
I had once received a leaked perfume from flipkart and clicked return and I received the replacement within 2-3 days and only then the courier person asked me for the faulty product. It might sound like that I am somehow related to flipkart but Im not. It is just my experience from last 3-4 years of online buying.
It might be just that I didnt have good start with snapdeal.com but 2 out of 2 bad, isnt a good start.
Update 5th September: after my review here, I received a phone call from snapdeal.com customer care and he said that theyll be picking up the wrong product tomorrow but the procedure to return takes like 7-10 days. He said returned product will be checked first after it reaches snapdeal.com office and then theyll credit SD cash to my account. And then I can use that cash to order products again. But it is just too long a process and what is the guarantee that this time Ill receive right products and of good quality, so I decided to not return the products.
So it appears that their customer service is good but their sellers really have to improve and make sure they send right product the first time. Also they need to reduce the time it takes to replace the product in case of any problem.
