I had ordered an HP Laptop costing Rs 43, 999 from Snapdeal after doing a comprehensive research on the product, warranty and HP authorized online re-sellers from third party shopping websites.
I even contacted HP support and also got a list of authorized HP re-sellers who are selling on Snapdeal. Lapcare was one amongst them, so I placed the order that was sold by Lapcare thinking I am buying a genuine product from an authorized re-seller with a valid warranty. But when I received the product the invoice was provided by Galaxy Electronics and this seller is not in the HP authorized re sellers list. So this clearly will void warranty on the product which was bought online through a non authorized re-seller.
When I raised this concern with Snapdeal customer support, they showed their true arrogance by saying any available seller can full fill the order based on the stock availability. So if thats the case then they should not mention the Sellers information on the product page and fooling the customer by actually selling products through non-authorized sellers. They should say any available seller can fulfill the product in the Product description page so that at least consumer is aware and decide whether to buy the product or not.
My very reason to buy the product from Snapdeal was that it was sold through an authorized re-seller. Later I initiated a refund request but that was denied saying the product reached in good condition, but I have not opened the package and its still sealed so I cant really say if it has reached undamaged or not. I had mentioned in my email communication to them that the package is sealed and the item condition is unknown to me as of now. I hadnt opened the product as it would be easier for a reverse pickup with all seals intact.
I have raised an online complaint with National Consumer Helpline portal of Ministry of Consumer Affairs and waiting on them to have a look at this fraud case by Snapdeal.
I urge everyone to stay away from Sanpdeal as this is my second experience with them where in I have issues with Product warranty, the last one was with a Pioneer Car stereo which was not authorized for online sale but after lot of hardships I was able to return it and got the refund.
I would say refrain from buying expensive products online especially from Snapdeal, save your hard earned money and retain your peace of mind by staying away from such unreliable shopping sites.
Thanks for taking time to read through my review, I just dont want anyone to go through this pain where in you buy a product showing trust in such a company and you end up losing your time, effort, money and the most that matters your peace of mind.
