Snapdeal's response to sending a wrong product

Those guys emailed me - and I answered them back - it tells the whole story. I am pasting this coz maybe others will learn what I learnt after losing money - Do not shop online for personal items like clothes and shoes - you take a big risk with their non existent after sales support.


Hello SNapdeal!


So here is what you are asking me to do:

  1. Pack up that useless piece of clothing with my own material to be fit to be accepted by a courier, buying those if I don’t have it - coz I have to rush it in 24-48 hours

2 Waste some more time finding out where is the nearest courier office, then spending my petrol, and time to get it there, again within 24-48 hours

  1. Cough up more cash to send it all the way to Delhi

My cash wasted on your product is Rs.307 only! Would it not be simpler and cheaper to put it in a waste basket? Is that what you really want me to do with those conditions?


I mailed on Saturday evening(3-05-13) - and you took full 72 hours to get back to me but I have to act in 24-48 hours. I live in Visakhapatnam, one of the busiest and most well connected cities in Andhra, and also India. How come you do not have logistics partners here? You have deliveries to more than 4000 cities and towns, but refuse to pick up a package from a well developed city! How convenient for you!


You say you will reimburse my shipping charges with discounts on my future purchases! What makes you think I will ever buy even a handkerchief from your company?


You representative just called me, and she says - The delay was because we have so many cases, and that 24-48 hours is more than enough to return a product! Is that how you make a customer feel valued?


Here is what I am going to do:

  1. Consign that product of yours to the Trash Can

  2. Put this whole conversation on some very good consumer review sites, so that people know the real benefits of online shopping with you!
