A deal with a catch

This would be my first review just because I think I should do my part in letting people know of what they might be paying for when they order stuff from snapdeal.com


The alluring low prices and convenience they seem to offer have nothing to do with how they actually operate. my brother placed an order( 236439413) for me on 3 July and it remained in the process status for a few days and then the fourth day or so I got a message saying your product has been delayed. when I check it after a cpl days it shows another order has been placed by snapdeal and that I guess meant a reset on the days I have to wait again. when I called the customer torture centre  the all knowing representative informed me that my money will be refunded since my product hasn’t reached in 6 days. I dont know if they even check complete info before imparting useless info. after me insisting to double check and a fairly good 10 mins wasted explaining so the rep finds out about the new order placed by them and just repeats the standard you have to wait.


After the confirmation I went back to the waiting mode for another few days for them to pack n ship the product yet again. the wait continued as I had to keep making calls just to make sure they dont cancel it again cause I was sure they have two icecream cups tied to strings for communication.


After a long wait while Flipkart efficiently delivers a couple of products on time, I see the status reading product reached panjim goa and I started looking for a number to contact Gati since snapdeal sent it thru them. after a few phone calls later I speak to a manager in gati - goa and he tells me that there is no office to begin with in panjim and it only reaches verna and they dont deliver to where I am . I stay in Anjuna and nobody from snapdeal ever told me there are going to  have delivery issues when the order was placed. so I called back snapdeal and the human parrot machines they hired keep repeating whatever they see on their screen on script without even trying to help in anyways. they tell me I just have to wait n it will be delivered.


Now I am making phone calls back n forth to snap deal and gati and both stand their grounds rather firmly expecting the customer to go kil themselves. the gati guy finally told me he can see my product lying there n they wil try to deliver it at their time if I pay them another 500 rs. I told the snap deal guys the same n they continue reading out scripts of assurance which by now I was in no mood to believe after the gati guys clearly told me how it goes.


I go online and realize I am not the only one and snapdeal just doesn’t seem to give a damn about consumers. the stupid customer rep would have had a black eye if he would have spoken to me the way he did in person. after me narrating my agonizing exp to him he simply says with a smile, " sir so should I just update customer is picking it himself?’


I spent money n picked it up myself from their warehouse that night cos I realized its only gonna lie there in a box for ages and I cant rely on a bunch of thugs on phone lines to help me.


another friend of mine has been waiting for her guitar she ordered from snapdeal since about 3 weeks now too. her order has been cancelled re placed re shipped n what not so far. its like snapdeal hires monkeys  to do the sorting out of orders.


Verdict : Snapdeal, you guys are absolutely lame, criminally lazy, zero competent, least caring, and all sorts of two or more than two word combinations of whatever can describe the grief you give to people who spend money on your site.  You guys choose the worst courier services maybe cos they easy on your pockets . Gati has  such a notorious reputation for not delivering on time or sometimes even not delivering at all and you guys seem to content with them. You might as well not have a customer care cos they never seem organized themselves.


Thanks to all the lazy people in India who order from your site I guess the snapdeal folks will never change. The least I can do is to make sure u atleast have one customer less [me] and I luckily cud rescue few of my friends who were about to spend big money on the site. the ones who are waiting on their products I empathize you all and hope you learn too.


Please dont let your friends and people you like suffer too and Snap out of it read reviews before you order online. Thank you Snapdeal for being a crook and making me spend so much on phonecalls with no help and additional transport clauses.
