FAKE PERFUME - FAKE TRUSTPAY POLICY - HORRIBLE!

I purchased 3 perfumes together from snapdeal.com. I am a very heave perfume user and own more than 30 perfumes and have repeated many of the purchases.


One of the perfumes I ordered - Nina Rici Premier Jour - which I have used before - was not of satisfactory quality. It smells different, the sprayer is faulty, the glass bottle bottom is uneven - moreover the label at the bottom is completely unlike that on the original one - plus it says made in Spain when it should have the label of made in France. Further I even checked at the Nina Rici counter at Shoppers Stop - and found that the one I received is indeed completely different from the original.


Now, I don’t want to get into the fight of original and duplicate with Snapdeal because I know they’ll never admit - all I ask is that they understand I am unhappy with the product quality and let me return it for a refund. Instead this is the email I got from them - asking me to prove in writing that the perfume is not authentic - I have never got a more unreasonable response from any other website before.

With reference to your complaint in regards to the order number(1501050326); As per the TrustPay guarantee we can take the return of the product if its faulty, damaged wrong product delivered, product is different from the description on Snapdeal. However you have received the same product in perfect condition.


The product which we have delivered to you was 100% genuine. we would request you to visit the brand outlet, and get it check from there. Moreover, provide us a written authentication certificate, if you face any issue further.


We regret to inform you that we would not be able to take your request.

Let me tell you that I am a very frequent online shopper and have used almost all Indian shopping sites - from Snapdeal, Groupon, Jabong, Flipkart, Shopclues, Myntra, Koovs, Yebhi, Fashionara - and many more. This is the worst experience ever - and to think this is run by ex IIT folks. Horrible experience.


This is what their Trustpay policy says:


When can I return the product received from Snapdeal?


You can return the product if:


You received a faulty/defective product.


You received a physically damaged product.


You are unhappy with the product quality.


The product is different from description on the website.


There is size/fit issue.


So while I think I qualify for multiple of the above reasons - all I ask is for them to accept and acknowledge my unhappiness and wish to return the product.


I even called the call center after I received the rude shock of the email - the person on the line was as much of a robot as the person on email was. I said the sprayer is indeed faulty - he said only electronics are considered damaged. not perfumes - we cannot take it back.


I wrote to them the same day I received the perfume - they shouldn’t be beating around the bush like that.


HORRIBLE SNAPDEAL - UTTERLY HORRIBLE!


NEVER AGAIN.


Oh and btw - yes I am taking this up with the consumer court.
