Worst 4* hotel I have ever stayed

Here are the things which I disliked about hotel.


1) Hotel’s website mentioned all rooms of hotel are’Centrally Heated’, but ground reality is none of them are centrally heated and instead they give one small hot air blower in each room. Attached picture of the same.


2) They claim hotel to be 4 star, but it doesn’t qualify to be 3 star also. They even don’t have 24 Hrs power backup. Don’t you expect a 4 star hotel to have 24Hrs power backup?. When I reached there on 4th February 2008, there was some issue with power supply and as per their "Rule" Generator will run Morning 6 to Morning 11 and Evening 6 till Evening 12. Even on repeated request to Hotel management they didn’t start generator on 4th feb Night and we were freezing in -7 degree temperature whole night. We will never forget that night full of nightmares. From next day thank god power supply restored, so we didn’t face same problem next day otherwise next day also we would be freezing whole night.


3) Hot water in hotel was dark yellowish just like someone urinated in bucket. Hotel management was gave clarification that as water was passing through water heater it is becoming yellow. Have you anytime heard that water will become yellow if passed through Water Heater? Attached Photo.


4) Furnishing is room is in very very bad shape. They don’t have any drawer in any side desk. Also the quality of furniture is so bad that you will feel that they have just put wooden planks in form of cupboards without finishing them at all. Attached photos. In Bathroom ventilation board is also broken and full of dirt. Attached pictures of the same. All rooms doors had 2 inches gap on bottom, so you can clearly hear all noise outside and so vice versa.


5) Package included BUFFET lunch and breakfast, but we weren’t provided that on buffet basis. Hotel management told that as this if off season they have only 5 room booked and out of that only 2 rooms has taken on package, so they will provide lunch and dinner only on order. As I fought a lot with management they gave me complimentary Breakfast and Dinner for one day at no cost as good service gesture. But my view point is they should clearly mention it before giving package to any guest that as they don’t have much people staying there in off-season they won’t provide food on buffet basis.


6) Toiletries in Bathroom were not of good standard. They had kept Rs. 1/- clinic plus sachet as shampoo. Do you expect this from 4 star hotel? Toilet soap also was not good.


7) Hotel management told that as good service gesture he is upgrading my room to Deluxe room instead of Standard offered in package. I can’t even imagine how bad will the Standard room be if Deluxe room itself is below 3 star standard.


8) Hotel Manager told Makemytrip.com through whom I booked this hotel, that he will talk to me personally, I even asked receptionist to ask manager to contact me, but he didn’t talk to me a single time though we were facing problems in hotel managed by him.


9) Hotel don’t have even pickup facility for guests. Not even on charged basis. When I called receptionist after reaching Manali, he said that as it snowed last night, you will have to shell out Rs. 500 for Gypsy to reach hotel, which is merely 2-3 Kms from Main town. Hotel management should take care of guests pickup and drop if requested, though on charged basis. After this incident we lost trust in hotel management and managed travel in and around manali ourselves.


Only Good things I can remember of hotel:


1) Room Service was prompt.


2) Food was ok.


3) Good view from room.
