Vijeta Films presents a Dharmendra Presentation ’’Socha Na Tha’’ directed by newcomer Imtaiz Ali and produced by Sunny Deol Starring the new deol Abhy Deol, the cousin of Sunny and Bobby Deol opposite beautiful bubbly actress Ayesha Takia, who had already given beautiful performances in Taarzan the wonder car and Dil Maange More and won the best debutant award.
The music is given by Sandesh Shandilya who has given music for Chemeli, KKKG and Rules while the lyrics are written by Irshad Kamil and Subrat Sinha. Well lets checkout that the Deols has given Abhy Deol a perfect start or not.
Story:
Abhay Deol plays Viren in ’Socha Na Tha’. He is from an orthodox family where values and heritage are considered vital. But Viren is a new age and happy go lucky guy and dreams like any other boy. Viren’s parents want him to marry a girl of their choice. Everything has been fixed. The girl in question is Aditi (Ayesha Takia). She is charming, pretty and chirpy too. However, Viren is seeing another girl.
This surprises Aditi though she is a new age girl too. So, she supports Viren in his voyage. Viren has not opened his heart to any one about his girlfriend, who is a Catholic and her family will not agree to this relationship. Despite Aditi’s cooperation, Viren’s refusal to marry with her creates havoc between the two families. A game of one-upmanship is on not only among the senior members of the families but between the lovers too.
Viren continues to woo Kareen, but bumps into Aditi too. In fact, they like to meet each other. There are no strings attached, they do not have to impress each other. He can be himself with her and she can say what she wants to. Each time they meet, they consider it to be the last and then Viren realizes that he is in love with Aditi. What happen next, you have to watch the movie.
Plusses:
Ayesha Takia was simply fabulous, she was looking very cute and give a fantastic performance.
Abhy Deol did a very decent job and sure going to have a great career.
The light moments were very interesting.
Imtaiz Ali has done a very good work.
The music was excellent. The songs Yara Rab and Socha Na Tha were really cool.
The story was different from the normal love stories these days.
Minuses:
Abhy Deol should work on his look. He was looking weird in Abhi Abhi.
The movie gets boring at places in the second half. The sence between Abhy Deol and Ayesha Julkha should be trimmend.
Abhi Abhi and Seedhe Saadhe should be well Shot.
Verdict:
The movie is very good and have excellent first half, full of laughter and interesting moments while second is good too through it should be little trimmend. Over all a nice cute attempt.
