Serendipity of Love

"Quest-for-love"

, not so ephemeral phase, is beautiful initially but later it turns into an ugly-pathetic-upheaval scenario which takes toll and gives birth to a typical insanity associated with the likes of  those who have been searching for love at all the wrong places.

Who will cure this insanity?

"Love", you might say. I am afraid, that’s not true. In fact, Love will come once the insanity has been cured.

"Self-realization" and "acceptance" are the key words here - transitioning from a Mills&Boons girl to a matured-grown-up-practical woman.

Most girls go through this transitioning seamlessly. But there is this rare breed who is reluctant and stubborn. Only a series of heart-breaks can do wonders for them. Heart-breaks does put them at low ebb for a while but these are blessing in disguise for these obstinate souls to shake them out of their surreal worlds.

Characters

Jane Goodale (Ashley Judd): She gets dumped. She is heart-broken. She creates theories about men. She is Jane Goodale, a smart-young-confident-heartbroken woman working with a media company as a talk show talent scout. She is looking for her Mr. Right. She believes in power of true love but has herself little idea about what love is..

Eddie Alden (Hugh Jackman): A dear friend of Jane who works in the same company. He has a past. He did not love anyone before and after meeting Rebecca. But, he is not heart-broken. That’s what he proclaims. In fact, carries himself and his life in such a way so as to give a notion that he is a happy Casanova.

Ray Brown (Greg Kinnear): He is the one behind stealing, breaking and teaching Jane’s heart. How he steals her heart, how he breaks it, how he teaches it is for you to find out.

Liz **(Marisa Tome): She is Jane’s best friend and confidante. Jane’s interactions with her reveal not only the impulsive nature of Jane but also some intricate details of girlish chit-chats.

Diane (Ellen Barkin): She is the boss. But, be surprised to see a different aspect of her getting revealed when the movie nears ending. Her conversation with Jane about her lost love is really beautiful and innocent.

...:::Story:::...

The story revolves around Jane and her quest for love. She gets blinded by the heart-breaks. When she is heart-broken she generalizes and believes that the whole world is under "Love carnage". She starts researching about mating habits of male animals and concludes that Men are polygamous and that her boyfriend (Ray) has lost interest in her because she is an old cow.

But when she discovers that Ray has gone back to his ex-girlfriend she starts re-hoping hopes and re-dreaming dreams because as per her theory the ex-girlfriend is an old cow.

She is ambivalent towards Ray and cynical towards Eddie. The serendipity of love comes to forefront and with it the sun-of-love rises in her life. How? Watch the movie to find out. I am sure you will not want to miss it.

Quote from Eddie to Jane: "I make no pretences. If she puts me up on a white horse, it’s her choice."
