Somnath temple in Gujarat is a famous temple, one of dwadash jyotirling in India .we were fortunate enough to have visited this great temple in simnath approximately 6 km from veraval.on the bank of the Arabian sea we went to this temple .The temple walls are full of architectural designs and marvels .we entered and got darshan of dwadash jyotirling in temple .We offered prayer to mahadev.
Chants of shiv reverberated in ears .It was an ecstatic feel can’t be explained only can be experienced .we could not carry camera inside, not allowed .At the sanctum sanctorum we witnessed a bulky shivling. priests dabbed curd, ghee, water, honey and sandal paste .In the evening we gathered to see light and sound show on the premises .This show highlighted Queen Ahlyabaai who constructed the temple .The beauty of the location is inexplicably nice .We also witnessed sun set at the sea .I will always cherish fond memories of this wonderful moment .
