Godd but can be better

I took a break off from chasing those little bugs in the software I had writeen. I asked my boss ’’Hey its weekend , and I’m still chasing tose bugs, give me a break’’ and she said have you heard Maroon 5 performing a concert at Arco Arena in Sacramento Friday night. I said ya I have but don’t have tickets, Well she being a good host ( I was left alone by my company to chase bugs in US of A, although I never stopped chasing those beautiful Sanfrancisco gals.. ) said she has an extra ticket as her boyfriend not turning up for some reasons. I readily accepted the invitation to join her for the concert.

And after the concert and finaly chasing and fixing the the bug successfully, I decided to write review on the concert for my Indian Junta. But hey wait I wanted to write little differently ( Like our filmmakers in Bollywood who always try to do something in every movie they make...) so I decided to contact my boss for that he-she review....

Here I am Allen and she is MICHELLE( Not the real names ofcource....)

So here it goes....

MICHELLE: I didn’t hate this concert. But I didn’t like it. They were a decent band and it was a well-produced concert. But I don’t think Arco Arena should have been playing video footage of James Brown and Led Zeppelin. The contrast didn’t reflect well on Maroon 5.

ALLEN: Basically Maroon 5 is a boy band with actual talent. These guys are very pretty. I think they need to worry about the Duran Duran syndrome. As soon as people saw what they looked like they lost all credibility. I liked their music, but let’s face it, other than The Beatles, the best rock bands have more than their share of ugly.

MICHELLE: I had a bad feeling about the main band, based on the audience and the openers. The audience was composed largely of very young teenage girls -- we’re talking ages 12-16. Their squeals caused me serious hearing damage for which I am planning to sue the arena, the bands, and anyone else I can think of.

ALLEN: I liked the first opening band, Simon Dawes. The lead singer had the most soul of anyone that evening. I thought the openers were sabotaged a bit by bad sound engineering. The sound was perfect for Maroon 5, so it kind of makes you wonder why they couldn’t do better for the bands they invited to come along with them.

MICHELLE: I liked the lead singer for Simon Dawes. But I liked the music by The Thrills better -- even though I thought these skinny Dubliners were clearly trying to be the next U2. All three bands were terribly pretty young men with those carefully crafted I-couldn’t-care-less hairstyles. All three bands seemed like they were trying very hard to look like they rolled out of bed. Gag. It made me ache for 1970s glam rock or 1980s hair bands. If it’s going to be about looks, go whole hog.

ALLEN: Maroon 5’s stage show was pretty solid. A back curtain of lights was impressive and clean. It appeared they’d had problems with the front curtain previously, because the roadies checked it 37 times before they hit the stage. I thought it was a third opening act called, ’’Middle aged guys with beer guts and power chords.’’

MICHELLE: Maroon 5’s work is tight. They’ve got talent. I liked their use of keyboards. And the lead singer can really belt them out. Plus, he has emotion to his delivery. I think we’re going to keep hearing from them. But are they Jimi Hendrix? John Lennon? Even Madonna? Not really.

ALLEN: Maybe early Madonna, but they’re going to have to go through 23 image changes to be in her league. I’m sure there are those who are fanatical for this band. I was sitting next to some of them. And maybe I’m too old to get it. I just found out what ’’emo music’’ is. Evidently it means emotion. OK, what song isn’t about emotion? Is there some accountant singing group I don’t know about?

MICHELLE: Well, I suppose there’s ’’Who Let the Dogs Out’’ or that song about putting the lime in the coconut that’s getting used for soda commercials now. But I can’t imagine going to the concert to hear that. Of course, if we didn’t get free tickets to see this, I can’t imaging buying them -- unless it was for a friend’s daughter or something. Maybe that’s the problem: Concerts are loud and crowded, and the big ones are usually at least a 90-minute drive away. It better be someone you’re dying to see. And I wasn’t. In fact, it was just something to do on the way home from Macy’s.
