I am a proud owner of RE Machismo 350, I stay in Mumbai. I was looking for RE official service center for bikes near South Mumbai area. I got address of Soniya Royal Enfield in Bhandup. When I gave them the bike for servicing, the amount of time they told me initially was 15 days for paid service, and now they are saying it will be 20 days. This is the longest service time I have ever heard for any vehicle so far. Even my car gets serviced at max in 3 days from its official service center. Why a bike requires 2-3 weeks [20 days of service time]? If there is a pool of bikes, there is not enough staff available.
The reason that they told me that free services are given preference over paid service. This kind of reason does not make any sense because all the bikes that customers buy will move to paid service after 3 free services, then what do you expect a customer to do next? Wait for another 3 weeks to get bike serviced? There is no other official service center nearby in a city like Mumbai.
After 15 days when I called them up, they said it will take another. After 20 days when I called them, they said, all mechanics have gone to village, so take your bike back and give it to private service center, else keep it for another 15 days and still they wont guarantee anything. Finally, after getting frustrated with this kind of post-sales service, I got my bike back.
