I bought Sony home theatre system DAV DZ 120 K in December 2006 and like all Sony products, it worked fine for one year. After that, It’s opening tray started giving problem. So, finally, I decided to take it to Sony service station. After 3 days of inspection, I received a call to know that estimate is Rs. 7, 500/-. In this amount, I could go and buy three more DVD players.
My issue is that when we spend so much of amount for a brand like Sony which is reliable only for one year, It is better to buy local brands at 30% of Sony price which even if they work for 6 months will provide ROI.
Brands are like perceptions and it takes years to build it while it takes a moment to change the opinion. I had been an ardent Sony follower since 1996 when I bought my first Music system G80 but now I have decided that I will move away from Sony and to start this, I have bought my LCD from Samsung.
Like Sony Tag line, it is definitely “like.no.other” when it comes to reliability. I hope Sony Management will pay attention to this issue.
