Even all Sony LCD TVs give electric shock!!!

With earlier bad experience with Samsung, I  had tested this Sony model at the Sony showroom, to my bad luck, the shop was on inverter and  hence did not detect the electric shock.

So, what you loose?

When you table top any LCD TV from Sony, you will get a electric shock when you touch the metal parts of the TV, like the USB/HDMI/AUDIO OUT connectors, the frame itself etc.

But the most irritation is when you are using your laptop connected to this TV over the HDMI.

The HDMI carry forwards the electric shock and while you type on the laptop, your wrist  gets  the electric shock. You do not get comfortable with using the laptop, you get a feeling of some unsafe thing happening. You never know, will your kid survive this electric shock?

How to test this? Just remove all the connectors in the showroom and use a tester on the USB ports, or just try touching the TV cabinet with your wrist, gently. Sony has updated me in writing that this is a default behavior.

Apart from the electric shock, if you wall mount the TV on a wet wall, then you wont get the electric shock.

As compared with the Samsung 4k range its certainly better in following terms:

1) TRUE original colors, you can see the  brown patches on green cricket  ground. original

2) Sound is excellent with minimal speakers

3) This  TV can play 4K movies from the USB drive(I think Samsung is not able to)

4) 3D for real 3D movies(not  SBS) is really  good, crystal clear

5) Simulated 3D is not as good as from LG, but LG will give you a headache after some time

6)  INLINE with the 4K spects, this TV is not able to display 3D simulated video  for 4K video

7) As a PC monitor, this is a good TV(when the TV is wall mounted), I love working!

8) flicker free, the mouse movement is  smooth

9) watching YOUTUBE content is good

Some minor bad points in  the software

i) the listing of movies on the USB drive is not good, you need to  try using it in the showroom, only if  you are comfortable, then you think of using the built in media player

ii) the loading of movie with any resolution, is much slower than my Rs. 3000 external media player

iii) There are some typical movie files, which you will not be able to play on this TV

iv) If you want to buy this for 3D movies where the scene pops out, go for 55 inches

v) Software update menu is kind of hidden, the TV needs to be ON while downlaoding the updates and you need to be present for the actual installation

vi) The USB ports are higher, the default USB cable with the hard drives  are shorter

vii) The TV over RF and channel buttons are unnecessary.

Verdict:

The next model from Sony will probably resolve these issues, if the electric shock persists, buy  a  55 inches and wall  mount it and earth/ground the wall mount

Or

go for the LG 4K range, the 3D is superb and the electric shock problem does not  exists.
