The popular perception about online reviews in India seems to be that disgruntled customers use them to vent their anger about products which have malfunctioned. Well, here’s one review that will not do the same.
Its been two years since we bought our Sony Bravia KLV 26S400A set. So far we’ve had no problems. On one occasion the tv refused to turn on due to voltage fluctuation. A call to Sony’s customer service solved the problem. The 26S400A is a 26" model which is HD ready. It comes with 2 HDMI ports, of which one is at the back and the other on the side of the set. The pictures are sharp and the sound is decent. We didn’t expect home theatre quality sound from the set, even though it comes with 2 front speakers which can deliver sound which would seem like surround sound.
As far as I know the model is no longer available in outlets such as Croma or Hypercity. The newer models have been upgraded to a Bravia 3 Engine which deliver sharper pictures. Besides, the number of options in this 26" category have multiplied in recent years. Samsung, LG offer models at cheaper prices than Sony, which are decent options. However to get full HD picture quality, the minimum screen size one has to go for is 32".
Now that I have written good things about the set, I hope it doesn’t stop working tomorrow!!
