From my experience, I’ll say give all the Sony drives a skip as they have absolutely no support in India. I have a CRX-230E which doesn’t burn any disk. It’s a piece of crap. I bought it from Rashi Peripherals but even they turned me out when I went to them for repairs.
Sony india of-course refused any sort of help. This drive worked fine for sometime then it stopped working. Also the disks burned by it had apparently very poor contrast as a lot of other drives including CD Burners failed to read those disks.
Quite often it couldn’t verify data written on the disk by itself.
Sony has a disk testing utitlity on their website which reports a failed drive.
After running to a lot of places I’ve bought a new drive from Benq and its working absolutely fine. It’s way more faster than this Sony crap even though they have similar specs.
I’ve kept it in my office at a place where every new person can see what happens when you buy an un-supported product.
I’ll say please beware of rashi peripherals also as they absolutely refuse to give any support later. Buy a samsung or lg or hp product and you’ll be way more happier.
So Please Please DO NOT BUY any Sony drives.
